Dan Roth Biography
The 2009 season will mark Dan's third season as head coach of the Barracudas. While at Barclay, Dan has coached swimmers that have gone on to compete at the Division I, II, and III NCAA level in multiple conferences across the Northeast. During the 2008 season, the Barracudas finished with a 4-1 record and winning "D" Division. Along the way, Barclay's 15-18 girls broke multiple long-standing relay and individual team records. He also guided five swimmers and one relay to first place Cherry Bowl finishes in 2008. Overall, Dan has five years of coaching experience, two of which as head coach. Before taking over the helm as head coach of Barclay, he spent two years as a full-time assistant coach and one year as swimmer coach, all at Barclay. Dan is also currently the head coach of the Hudson Valley Dolphins, a USA Swimming age group team in upstate New York. He is a Level One American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) certified coach as well as a USA Swimming certified coach. He is very thankful to be a part of the Barclay family and looks forward to another great season with the loudest and proudest team in Tri-County!
Dan also has a decorated swim career, swimming for the Camden County YMCA as captain and a state, regional and JO qualifier. He was also a member of two-time NJ state champion Cherry Hill High School East as captain, Old Orchard and Barclay Farm Barracudas as captain, and perennial NCAA Division III SUNYAC conference power New Paltz Hawks as a two-year captain. Dan also earned SUNYAC All-Academic Team honors and graduated with a BA in Journalism - Public Relations from SUNY New Paltz in December of 2008. He is planning on pursuing his MBA in the fall.
